As a drummer, producer, and songwriter, I wanted this arrangement to express the emotional complexity of the original composition while giving each instrument the opportunity to tell its own part of the story. The rhythm section creates a steady foundation, while shifting harmonies, expressive melodies, and dynamic textures mirror the twists and turns that often accompany life's most difficult decisions.
Rooted in soul, funk, R&B, and contemporary groove, this instrumental highlights the musicianship of D'MAR & The Nu Funk Society, allowing every performance to speak with honesty and emotion.
